Point Series
for
Sea Kayaks, Canoes & Small Boats

Tampa Bay Course

This course consists of four loops and you can choose which loop you want to do just before launching.  All racers must sign out and sign in for each loop.

If you are doing the 24-hour race, you must do as many 25-mile loops as possible.  When there isn't enough time remaining to complete a 25-mile loop, you can drop into the 15-mile or 6-mile loop.  You must declare which loop you are dropping into before you start the loop.

DANGER:  Tampa Bay has lots of boat traffic and a major shipping channel.  The ships are moving much faster than they appear.  Always give ships and boats the right of way.  When crossing the shipping channel, it is best to cross at a set of marker bouys so you can know for certain exactly where the channel is located.  Crossing the shipping channel at a shallow angle is not recommended.

The following link provides all waypoints and course directions for all loops.  Remember that piloting your boat is your responsibility.  Just because the route shows or implies a straight line does not mean that is the fastest or safest route.PDF - Course Waypoints and Routes
